Explore Jockey Hollow in Morristown National Historical Park

Experience a memorable up-close-and-personal look at America's early days just a short drive from Best Western PLUS Murray Hill Hotel and Suites. Morristown National Historical Park pays tribute to the sites of the Continental Army's winter encampment during the Revolutionary War. One of those sites is Jockey Hollow. Thousands of small huts were built to house the soldiers who were required to build their own beds and other furniture. You'll be able to see some of these huts as well as enjoy a wealth of exhibits in the Visitor Center. You're also welcome to take a nature walk in this beautiful park.

The entrance fee for Morristown National Historical Park is $7.00 per person. Visitors 15 years old and younger are free.

Hours -

Jockey Hollow Visitor Center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Can I bring my pet to the Park?

You most certainly can but you must follow the rules. You'll need to keep your pet on a six-foot leash during your entire visit. In addition, you're responsible for picking up pet waste so make sure to bring plastic bags. Lastly, pets are not allowed inside any of the Park buildings. And since pets may not be left alone, it's a good idea for you to decide ahead of time whether it's a good idea to bring yours with you.
  • Where can I find passport stamps at the Park?

A great way to remember your visit is to get a passport stamp. For Jockey Hollow, go to the front desk at the Visitor Center where you can also receive the Crossroads of the American Revolution NHA stamp. As for the Morristown National Historical Park stamp, make your way to the Washington's Headquarters Museum Store desk. The Passport Stamp Program was begun in 1986 by the Eastern National Parks Association.
